SURREAL DAZE

Surreal Daze is a compilation of work produced while I was in high school. After moving to a new home and school away from lifelong friends, it was very difficult to assimilate myself into an environment that was established with tight circles of friends. As a result, I spent a lot of time isolated, which allowing me to focus my time on creating digital based artwork. My high school photo teacher who introduced me to other artists and unconventional techniques was highly influential on the direction of my work I connected to the weird and absurd art formed by the surrealist Dali, Magritte, and Jerry Uelsmann. This inspired my work to depict a surrealist view of contemporary issues such as the Bush administration, war, environmental policies, censorship, surveillance, and religion.
